Why I’m Running for Natrona County Commissioner
You are probably wondering why I have decided to run for public office. That is a good question.
The truth is, I am not an activist. For the past decade or so, I’ve been busy living a normal life. I had been focusing on my wife and supporting her through her education, working hard in my IT career, and doing what I could to help my friends and family when they needed it.
Learning the Ropes
I ran for office 20 years ago, well I think it was 20 years ago, it has been so long now. Matt Keating was running and I believe Rob Hendry was running for Commissioner as well, I think Keith Goodenough was serving on Casper City Council at the time.
I routinely had coffee with Terry Wingerter and tried to hold his feet to the fire on the construction of that new courthouse. I felt it to be a waste of taxpayer money. He told me they were able to get the money from the state to help pay for it, after we had already voted it down in the community. I told him it was still tax payer money, I asked him where he thought the state got that money from.
I learned a lot back then. I was just a kid really with no idea how much was involved in it. But since then, my focus has been on family, work, and community in the quiet, day-to-day sense.
Getting Results
I’m running now because I’ve reached a point in my life where I want to put that experience to work for Natrona County. Over the last decade I have managed systems and the IT budget for the City of Mills.
I’m not coming into this as a professional politician, or an activist who’s been chasing the spotlight; I’m coming to this as someone who knows how the systems actually work and cares about getting results, not just making noise.
I don't have a wall of degrees, and I don't have a 20-year streak of attending every single meeting. What I do have is decades of hands-on experience solving real-world problems and a deep respect for the people who make this County what it is.

30+ Years Working in IT: Starting off as an unpaid volunteer in a local computer repair shop and developing into my current position as IT Director for the City of Mills.

Municipal Public Service: Nearly a decade of public service at the municipal level, managing both the systems for the city and the budget for the IT department.

Long-time Natrona County Resident & Republican: I have been a Republican longer than I was legally allowed to register and vote. I have lived in Natrona County my entire adult life. Even though we moved a lot when I was growing up, I was able to attend Verda James Elementary, Centennial Junior High, and graduate from Kelly Walsh (I know, I’m sorry to disappoint the NC alums).
